Greetings and welcome to the web pages of
Bodhraphonics and Ambionics.
‘Wonderful
workshops and exciting lighting.’
As you may know, Bodhraphonics is the Celtic Drumming workshops, and Ambionics is the ambient lighting and event facilitation
service.
Bodhraphonics.
The Bodrophonics
Workshops are available for schools, festivals, club events and private
tuition.
Bodhraphonics works well with a wide range of people and drumming
styles, including working with professional musicians, children and adults with
learning difficulties and/or autism, social interaction groups, club activities
and events, and spiritual drumming workshops for ritual, path working and
meditation.
Bodraphonics and Ambionics are insured
for £2,000,000 third party liability and all workshop leaders are CRB checked.
For festivals, schools
and club events, Bodhraphonics has up to 30 bodhran drums and beaters available for group use.
Depending on the ages
and skill levels of the students, the workshops usually run in three parts,
learning the basics, playing along to tunes and learning some more advanced
techniques to add colour to the performance. The lesson plan, progress and
learning reinforcement are all tailored to the individual groups, and may vary
from a basic ‘Having a go’ to advanced tuition.
The workshops are
light-hearted and fun, with an emphasis on getting the best out of the students
while they enjoy themselves.
Music for practice
during the workshops is provided by myself playing traditional Irish, Celtic
and English tunes on a recorder, and am often
accompanied by Julia playing guitar.
